Interface (TL-IL)
The boundary between thermal liquid and isothermal liquid networks.
Description
The Interface (TL-IL) unit allows thermal liquid and isothermal liquid networks to be connected.
The mass flow rate and fluid pressure are matched between the networks, but fluid properties are not transferred between them. To preserve the properties of the liquid between the thermal and isothermal components of the model, connect the Isothermal Liquid Properties (IL) block with the desired properties to the isothermal network side.
You can connect the Thermal liquid library blocks to the Isothermal liquid library blocks. If the Controlled temperature check box is unchecked, the temperature of the isothermal liquid is constant and is set in the Interface temperature parameters. If Controlled temperature is checked, the isothermal liquid temperature is set by the thermal liquid temperature through the T port.
The mass flow rate is stored in the two networks:
where
-
- is the mass flow rate of thermal liquid at the boundary;
-
- isothermal liquid mass flow rate at the boundary.
Absolute pressure of liquid in thermal liquid and isothermal liquid sections of the block, as well as inside the block itself is kept constant:
