Symbolic calculations

Description

The course Symbolic Calculations is designed to familiarize you with the libraries and functions of symbolic mathematics in Engee. Each section of the course contains practical examples and tasks for self-completion.

Knowledge requirements: course completion Welcome to Engee.

Total course time: ~2 hours.

Course program

Symbolic variables and symbolic expressions.

The concept of a symbolic variable, methods for specifying symbolic variables and mathematical expressions containing symbolic variables, and the substitution of numerical values into symbolic variables are studied.

Symbolic equations.

Creation and solution of linear and nonlinear symbolic equations are studied.

Symbolic functions.

The creation of symbolic functions, the substitution of symbolic expressions into symbolic functions, and the usage of symbolic functions in symbolic equations are studied.

Visualization of symbolic functions.

The construction of two-dimensional graphs of symbolic functions of one variable and the construction of contour and three-dimensional graphs of symbolic functions of two variables are studied.

Symbolic solution of mathematical analysis problems.

Symbolic methods of differentiation, integration, decomposition of functions into a power series and solutions of ordinary differential equations are studied.

The final project.

The problem of finding the rotation angles of the links of the robot arm depending on the lengths of the links and the coordinates of the endpoint is studied. The corresponding system of nonlinear equations is recorded and solved by symbolic methods.
