Proportional Valve Actuator
Power operated valve actuator in a liquid or gas network.
Description
The Proportional Valve Actuator block models a power actuator used in conjunction with a valve block from the Fluids and Gases library. It can be used in conjunction with any valve block that accepts a scalar signal as input. The signal to open or close the valve is input to port A. The position of the connected valve is returned as a signal to port S.
The opening or closing value can be adjusted using the Actuator gain parameter. A first-order time delay is applied to the actuation distance:
,
where
-
- is the signal input to port A multiplied by the actuator gain Actuator gain. The value of is limited by the value of Valve stroke at the top, and the negative value of Valve stroke at the bottom;
-
- the current position of the actuator;
-
- time constant, the value of Time constant.
