Description

The Temperature Sensor unit is an ideal temperature sensor that operates in two modes depending on the value of the Measurement type parameters:

  • Absolute - the block in Absolute Temperature Sensor mode measures the absolute temperature at a point. To measure the absolute temperature, connect the A port to the point to be measured.

  • Difference - the unit in Temperature Difference Sensor mode measures the temperature difference between two points, without heat generation or absorption. In this mode, the block has two thermal ports A and B that connect to the two points between which the temperature is measured. The positive direction of the block is from port A to port B. The measured temperature is defined as .

The output port T is the port that outputs the temperature difference value or the absolute temperature value.

Ports

Non-directional

A - port A
`heat

Heat port corresponding to the positive sensor input.

B - port B
heat

Heat port corresponding to the negative sensor input.

Dependencies

To use this port, set the Measurement type parameters to `Difference'.

Output

T - output port
scalar

Temperature output port.

Parameters

Measurement type - selection between absolute and relative measurements
Difference (by default) | Absolute

Select between absolute and relative measurements:

  • Difference - the sensor measures the temperature difference between two points in the model. When this option is selected, port B is displayed on the block icon.

  • Absolute - the sensor measures the absolute temperature at port A. Only one port is needed for absolute measurements. Selecting this option hides port B on the block icon.
