Flow Rate Sensor (TL)

Measurement of mass and volume flow rates, energy flow in a thermal liquid network.

Description

The Flow Rate Sensor (TL) unit is an ideal sensor that measures the mass flow rate, energy per unit time and volume flow rate that has passed through the sensor in a thermal liquid network. Pressure and temperature do not change in the sensor.

The unit is connected in series with the component to be measured.

The mutual orientation of ports A and B sets the sign of the measurement, and the flow from port A to port B is taken as the positive direction. Inverting the port connection reverses the measurement sign.

Three ports are available for measurement data output:

  • Port M - mass flow rate.

  • Port V - volumetric flow rate.

  • Port φ - energy flow value.

These ports are displayed on the block icon depending on the block settings. Adjust the unit parameters to display only those ports that are required for measurements in a particular model.

Non-directional

A - sensor input
thermal liquid

Thermal liquid port, corresponds to the sensor inlet. The flow rate is positive if the thermal fluid flows into port A and flows out of port B.

B is the sensor output
thermal liquid.

Thermal liquid port, corresponds to the sensor output. The flow rate is positive if the thermal fluid flows into port A and flows out of port B.

Parameters

Mass flow rate - enable or disable the output port for mass flow rate measurement
On (by default) | Off

The sensor measures mass flow rate.

When this checkbox is selected, the M output port becomes available.

Volumetric flow rate - Enable or disable the output port for volumetric flow rate measurement
On (By default) | Off

The sensor measures volumetric flow rate.

When this checkbox is selected, the V output port becomes available.

Energy flow rate - Enable or disable the output port for energy flow measurement
enabled (by default) | disabled.

The sensor measures the amount of energy that has passed through the sensor per unit time.

When this checkbox is selected, the φ output port becomes available.
