Description

Block Flow Rate Sensor (TL) It is an ideal sensor that measures the mass flow rate, the amount of energy per unit time and the volumetric flow rate that have passed through the sensor in the thermal liquid network. The pressure and temperature in the sensor do not change.

The unit is connected in series with the measured component.

The mutual orientation of ports A and B sets the measurement sign, and the flow from port A to port B is taken as a positive direction. Inverting the port connection changes the sign of the measurement to the opposite.

Three ports are available for the output of measurement data:

 • Port M — mass flow.

 • Port V — volumetric flow rate.

 • Port φ is the value of the energy flow.

These ports are displayed on the block icon depending on the block settings. Configure the parameters of the unit to display only those ports that are necessary for measurements in a particular model.

Ports

Output

M — mass flow rate, kg/c
scalar

Output port for mass flow measurement.

Dependencies

To use this port, select the Mass flow rate checkbox.

V — volumetric flow rate, m3/s
scalar

Output port for volumetric flow measurement.

Dependencies

To use this port, select the Volumetric flow rate checkbox.

φ — energy flow, W
scalar

Output port for measuring energy flow.

Dependencies

To use this port, select the Energy flow rate checkbox.

Undirected

A — pass sensor input:q[
] thermal liquid

The thermal liquid port corresponds to the input to the sensor. The flow rate is positive if the coolant flows into port A and flows out of port B.

B — pass sensor output:q[
] thermal liquid

The thermal liquid port corresponds to the output of the sensor. The flow rate is positive if the coolant flows into port A and flows out of port B.

Parameters

Mass flow rate — enable or disable the output port for measuring mass flow
enabled (by default) | turned off

The sensor measures the mass flow.

When this check box is selected, the output port M becomes available.

Volumetric flow rate — enabling or disabling the output port for volumetric flow measurement
enabled (by default) | turned off

The sensor measures the volumetric flow rate.

When this check box is selected, the output port V becomes available.

Energy flow rate — enable or disable the output port for measuring the energy flow
enabled (by default) | turned off

The sensor measures the amount of energy that has passed through the sensor per unit of time.

When this check box is selected, the output port φ becomes available.
