blockType: AcausalElectricPowerSystems.Passive.ThreePhaseDynamicLoad

Path in the library:

/Physical Modeling/Electrical/Passive/Dynamic Load (Three-Phase)

Description

Block Dynamic Load (Three-Phase) implements a dynamic load for a three-phase power supply.

The table shows how the unit calculates the consumed active and reactive power depending on the supply voltage., .

Range of values Corresponding active and reactive power consumption

The block simulates a load with a resistance equal to:

In the table:

 • — the value of the parameter Minimum supply voltage (phase-to-phase RMS).

 • — the consumed active power of the unit Dynamic Load (Three-Phase).

 • — the input active power of the unit Dynamic Load (Three-Phase).

 • — the consumed reactive power of the unit Dynamic Load (Three-Phase).

 • — input reactive power of the unit Dynamic Load (Three-Phase).

Block Dynamic Load (Three-Phase) consumes or generates active power depending on the polarity of the input active power . If , the unit consumes active power. If , the unit generates active power.

Load flow analysis

If the unit is located in a network compatible with time-frequency simulation mode, you can perform an analysis of the network load flow. Load flow analysis allows you to obtain stable values that can be used to initialize the machine.

Ports

Three-phase electrical port.

Parameters

Main

Rated electrical frequency — rated electrical frequency
50 Hz (default)

Rated electrical frequency.

Minimum supply voltage (phase-to-phase RMS) — minimum pass supply voltage:Q[
] 100 V (default)

The minimum supply voltage (RMS value of the phase) required by the unit to operate as a dynamic load.

Voltage time constant — time constant for dynamic voltage change
0.01 s (default) | positive scalar

The time constant associated with transients when measuring terminal voltage.

Initial supply voltage (phase-to-phase RMS) — initial voltage at the pass terminals:q[
] 200 V (default) | a positive scalar quantity

The RMS value of the terminal voltage at time zero.

Initial supply voltage angle — terminal voltage angle at zero time
0 degrees (default) | scalar

The voltage angle at the terminals at zero time.

Parasitic conduction to electrical reference — parasitic conduction to ground
0 S (default) | a non-negative scalar

Parasitic earth conduction.
