Floating Reference

A reference point for measuring the voltage of other nodes in an ungrounded electrical circuit.

Description

Block Floating Reference provides an electrical reference point that can be used to measure the voltage of other nodes in an ungrounded electrical circuit.

Unlike the block Electrical Reference, which provides a connection to the ground, this unit uses a capacitance to block the DC current.

For more information about the operating modes of a three-phase system connected according to the Triangle scheme, see Recommendations for delta connection of transformer windings.

Ports

Undirected

n — neutral
electricity

An electrical port, the direct current through which is zero. Use this port to measure the voltage of other nodes in an ungrounded electrical circuit.

Parameters

Capacity — capacity blocking direct current
1 UF (by default) | positive scalar

The physical capacitance between the ungrounded circuit and the ground. This capacitance blocks direct current.

Parasitic parallel conduction — parasitic parallel conduction
0 1/ohm (by default)

Represents small parasitic effects.

A non-zero value is required to simulate some circuit topologies.
