Description

Block Mach Number Sensor (G) It is an ideal sensor that measures the Mach number of the gas flow. The Mach number is calculated as the ratio of the gas velocity to the local sound propagation velocity and is a measure of the effect of the compressibility of the gas in the channel. The Mach number is determined as follows:

where

  • — mass consumption;

  • — density;

  • — local speed of sound propagation;

  • — the cross-sectional area of the flow, the value of the parameter Area of flow path.

These values depend on the block settings. Gas Properties (G). When the flow passes from port A to port B, the block outputs the Mach number of the flow to port Mach. The limit value of the Mach number in the block is 1. Using this block does not affect the flow.

Ports

Details

The non-directional port corresponding to the sensor input. The flow rate is positive if gas flows from port A to port B.
