Liquid Properties Sensor (IL)

Measurement of density, volumetric modulus of elasticity and the proportion of air in the network of an isothermal liquid.

Description

Block Liquid Properties Sensor (IL) It is an ideal sensor that allows you to measure the density of the mixture, the volumetric modulus of elasticity and the proportion of air in the network of an isothermal liquid. There is no mass flow through the sensor.

The unit measures these properties on a node connected to port A. All measurements are made relative to absolute zero.

The block icon changes depending on the value of the parameters Density, Isothermal bulk modulus and Fraction of air that is entrained.

Dependencies

To use this port, select the Density checkbox.

Signal output port for measuring the volumetric modulus of elasticity of an isothermal liquid mixture.

Dependencies

To use this port, select the Isothermal bulk modulus checkbox.

theta — air share
scalar

Signal output port for measuring the proportion of entrained (undissolved) air:

Value 1 means that there is no dissolved air. Value 0 means that all the air is dissolved.

Dependencies

To use this port, check the box Fraction of air that is entrained.

The isothermal liquid port corresponds to the sensor input. Connect this port to the node in the isothermal liquid network where you want to measure the properties of the liquid. All measurements are made relative to absolute zero.

Parameters

Density — visibility of the output port for density measurement
enabled (by default) | turned off

Checking this box opens the rho output port, which allows you to measure the density of the liquid.

Isothermal bulk modulus — visibility of the output port for measuring the volumetric modulus of elasticity
enabled | disabled (by default)

Setting this check box opens the beta output port for measuring the volumetric modulus of elasticity of an isothermal liquid mixture.

Fraction of air that is entrained — visibility of the output port for measuring the fraction of air
enabled | disabled (by default)

Setting this check box opens the theta output port for measuring the proportion of entrained (undissolved) air.
