Description
Block Flow Rate Sensor (IL) It is an ideal sensor that measures the mass and volume flow rates in the isothermal liquid network. The pressure and temperature of the liquid in the sensor do not change.
The unit must be connected to the network sequentially.
The block icon changes depending on the value of the Mass flow rate and Volumetric flow rate parameters.
Ports A and B correspond to the input and output of the sensor. The orientation of ports A and B relative to the flow direction determines the sign of the measurement: it is positive if the flow goes from port A to port B and vice versa.
Ports M and V output mass and volume flow rates through the sensor, respectively.
The volumetric flow rate is calculated from the mass flow rate as follows:
Where:
-
— volumetric consumption.
-
— Measured mass flow.
-
— the value of the density of the liquid mixture in ports A or B. There is no pressure difference on the sensor, so the densities in ports A and B are identical. The equations used to calculate the density of a mixture of liquids depend on the chosen isothermal liquid model.
Ports
Output
M — mass flow rate, kg/s
scalar
The output port of the mass flow signal.
Dependencies
To use this port, select the Mass flow rate checkbox.
V — volumetric flow rate, m3/s
scalar
The output port of the volumetric flow signal.
Dependencies
To use this port, select the Volumetric flow rate checkbox.
Undirected
A — pass sensor input:q[
] Isothermal liquid
The isothermal liquid port corresponds to the sensor input. The flow rate is positive if the liquid flows from port A to port B.
B — pass sensor output:q[
] Isothermal liquid
The isothermal liquid port corresponds to the sensor output. The flow rate is positive if the liquid flows from port A to port B.
Parameters
Mass flow rate — visibility of the output port for measuring mass flow
enabled (by default) | turned off
Does the sensor measure the mass flow rate.
When this check box is selected, the output port M opens.
Volumetric flow rate — visibility of the output port for volumetric flow measurement
disabled (by default) | enabled
Whether the sensor measures volumetric flow.
When this check box is selected, the output port V opens.
