Description

Block Self-Excited Exciter It is a thyristor self-excitation (powered by the busbars of an excited generator) without a series transformer. Block Self-Excited Exciter It can be used as an exciter in a synchronous generator model with a control system, which is shown in the diagram.

Parameters

Main

# Exciter field time constant T_e, s — the time constant of the pathogen

Details

The time constant of the pathogen, in seconds.

Typically, the value of the time constant of the exciter for an electric machine excitation system is 0.3–0.5 s, for a thyristor — 0.02–0.04 s.

Default value

0.04

Program usage name

T_e

Evaluatable

Yes

# Limits exciter voltage output [Efd_max Efd_min], pu — limits of the output value of the excitation voltage

Details

The maximum and minimum output value of the excitation voltage applied to the excitation circuit of the synchronous machine, in relative units.

Default value

[2.5 -2.0]

Program usage name

voltage_exciter_limits

Evaluatable

Yes

Voltage Ports

# Enable d-q voltage ports — activation of generator voltage input ports along the d and q axes

Details

If this check box is checked, the unit uses the input ports Vd and Vq If the check box is unchecked, instead of the d- and q-components, the unit uses the V port to transmit the full voltage value.

The check box is checked By default.

Default value

true (switched on)

Program usage name

enable_d_q_voltage

Evaluatable

Yes

Initial Values

# Initial field voltage Efd0, pu — the initial value of the excitation voltage

Details

The desired value of the excitation voltage output is Efd at the initial moment of simulation in relative units.

Default value

1.0

Machine Parameters

# Rated voltage, V — Rated voltage of the generator

Details

The rated voltage of the generator, in volts.

Default value

24e3

Program usage name

V_rated

Evaluatable

Yes

Machine Initial Values

# Initial condition of terminal voltage magnitude, V — the initial voltage of the generator

Details

The value of the generator voltage at the initial moment of the simulation in volts to obtain the desired initial value of the excitation voltage Efd. If, at the initial moment of simulation, the voltage port V (RMS Vd, Vq) receives a value equal to Initial condition of terminal voltage magnitude, V Rated voltage, V, then at the output at the start of the simulation, the unit will output the excitation voltage Efd set in the parameter Initial field voltage Efd0, pu.
