Block

Root WSF DOA

Description

System object EngeePhased.RootWSFEstimator estimates the direction of arrival (direction of arrival, DOA) of a given number of narrowband signals incident on a homogeneous linear antenna array (ULA) using the root weighted subspace matching method (Root WSF).

To evaluate the DOA, follow these steps:

  1. Create an object EngeePhased.RootWSFEstimator and set its properties.

  2. Call an object with arguments as if it were a function.

To learn more about how to work with system objects, see Engee System Objects.

Syntax

Creation

  • estim = EngeePhased.RootWSFEstimator() — creates a system object that evaluates the direction of arrival of the signal using the Root WSF method applied to a uniform linear phased array (ULA), with by default property values.

  • estim = EngeePhased.RootWSFEstimator(Name=Value) — creates a system object that evaluates the direction of arrival of the signal using the Root MUSIC method, with the specified properties in the form of a pair Name=Value, where Name — the name of the property, and Value — appropriate value. You can specify multiple pairs «name-value» the order of the pairs does not matter. Unspecified properties retain their by default values.

Usage

  • Ang = estim(X) — estimates the angles of arrival of the signal X relative to the normal of the antenna array using the Root WSF usage method.

Arguments

Input arguments

X — input signal

+ the complex matrix P on Q

Details

The input signal, given as a complex matrix on , where — the number of elements in the antenna array, and — number of channels.

Типы данных

Float32, Float64

Support for complex numbers

Yes

Output arguments

Ang — calculated directions of arrival of the signal

+ A row vector of Q elements

Details

The calculated DOA of the signal, returned as a real-row vector of calculated angles relative to the normal of the antenna array.

The units of measurement are degrees.

Properties

# NumSignalsMethod — method for estimating the number of signals
String

Details

A method for estimating the number of signals, given as "AIC" (by default) or "MDL". In "AIC" the Akaike information criterion is used, and in "MDL" — the criterion of the minimum length of the description.

Dependencies

To use this property, set the NumSignalsSource property to "Auto".

# Method — the iterative method
String

Details

An iterative method specified by one of the following values: "IMODE" (by default) or "IQML".

# MaximumIterationCount — maximum number of iterations
Real number

Details

The maximum number of iterations, given as a positive integer scalar or Inf (by default).

# PropagationSpeed — signal propagation speed
Real number

Details

The propagation velocity of the signal, given as a positive scalar.

Units of measurement — m/s.

By default — 3e8.

# OperatingFrequency — Operating frequency
Real number

Details

The operating frequency specified as a positive scalar.

Units of measurement — Hz.

By default — 3e8.

# NumSignalsSource — expected number of incoming signals
String

Details

The expected number of incoming signals, given as "Auto" or "Property".

If this property is set to "Auto", the number of signals is estimated by the method specified in the property NumSignalsMethod.

If this property is set to "Property", the number of signals is set in the NumSignals property.

# SensorArray — antenna array object

Details

Antenna array specified as a system object EngeePhased.ULA.

# NumSignals — number of incoming signals
Real number

Details

The number of signals specified as a positive integer. The number of signals must be less than the number of elements in the array specified in the SensorArray property. You can specify this property with single or double precision.

Dependencies

To use this property, set the NumSignalsSource property to "Property".

Methods
