Description
Block Torque Source It is a source of mechanical energy that generates a torque proportional to the input signal.
Connections R and C are mechanical ports for maintaining rotation. Port S is the signal controlling the source. You can use all the variety of signal sources to create the desired torque change profile. A positive signal on the S port creates a torque acting from C to R. The moment generated by the source is directly proportional to the signal on the control port S.
The positive direction of the block is from port C to port R. This means that the torque is positive if it acts in the direction from C to R. The relative velocity is measured as , where , — absolute angular velocities at ports R and C, respectively, and it is negative if the velocity at port R is greater than at port C. The power generated by the source is negative if the source supplies power to the R port.
Ports
Input
S — control signal, N*m
scalar
The input port through which the control signal is applied, controlling the source.
R — rod
rotational mechanics
The mechanical rotation port is connected to the moving part of the source (rod).
C — case
rotational mechanics
The mechanical rotation port connected to the reference point (body).
