Description
Block Constant Power Load realizes a constant power load for a constant current source.
-
The unit outputs the rated power as long as the voltage of the DC source is greater than or equal to the value of the parameter Minimum supply voltage.
-
When the DC supply voltage drops below the value of the Minimum supply voltage parameter, the load behavior changes, and the unit operates as a constant resistance. If the supply voltage becomes negative, the unit operates as a constant reverse conductivity.
To ensure a smooth transition from one behavior to another, the block uses a third-order polynomial spline with continuous derivatives. You can set the width of this transition using the Transition voltage width parameter.
Parameters
Main
Power consumed — power consumption
100W (by default)
Rated power consumed by the unit.
Dependencies
To use this parameter, set the Load Type parameter to DC.
Minimum supply voltage — minimum DC supply voltage
20 V (by default)
The minimum DC power supply voltage that must be provided to the unit to operate as a constant power load.
Reverse conduction — reverse conduction
1e−6S (by default)
The value of the reverse conductivity when the supply voltage becomes negative.
Transition voltage width — width of the transition voltage
1e−3V(by default)
The width of the transient voltage used to ensure a smooth transition from one unit behavior to another when the supply voltage drops below Minimum supply voltage or becomes negative.
