Rotational Damper
Viscous damper in mechanical rotating systems.
Description
The Rotational Damper unit represents an ideal mechanical rotational viscous damper described by the following equations:
Where:
-
- is the torque transmitted through the damper.
-
- damping coefficient (viscous friction).
-
- relative angular velocity.
-
- absolute angular velocities at ports R and C respectively.
The positive block direction is from port R to port C. This means that the torque is positive if it acts in the direction from R to C.
Parameters
Damping coefficient, N*m/(rad/s) - damping coefficient
`0.001 N*m/(rad/s) (by default)
Damping coefficient caused by viscous friction.
Initial value of rotational velocity, rad/s - initial value of angular velocity
0.0 (by default)
.
Initial value of relative angular velocity.
Initial value of torque, N*m - initial value of torque
0.0 (By default)
Initial value of torque.
