Description

Block Rotational Damper It is an ideal mechanical rotational viscous damper described by the following equations:

where

  • — the torque transmitted through the damper;

  • — coefficient of damping (viscous friction);

  • — relative angular velocity;

  • — absolute angular velocities at ports R and C, respectively.

The positive direction of the block is from port R to port C. This means that the torque is positive if it acts in the direction from R to C.

Variables

Use the parameter group Initial Targets to set the priority and initial target values for the block parameter variables before modeling. For more information, see Configuring physical blocks using target values.
