Description

Block Load Flow Source — this is a three-phase voltage source used for flow distribution analysis.

The block can be used to implement a balancing node, PV node, or PQ node. The node type is selected in the drop-down menu of the parameter Source type.

When setting the value None for the parameter Source impedance block Load Flow Source simulates an ideal three-phase voltage source that maintains a sinusoidal voltage of a given magnitude at its terminals regardless of the current flowing through the source.

The source has a star configuration, and the n port provides a connection to the center of the star. Port ~ is a three—phase port representing the phases , and . The current is considered positive if it flows from the positive terminals to the center of the star, and the voltage at each phase is equal to the difference between the voltage at the positive terminals and the center of the star., .

Limitations

  • If initialization is performed with the Start simulation from steady state option disabled in the block Solver Configuration, for the parameter Source type the value must be set to Voltage source with series impedance.

  • During block initialization, when for the parameter Source type the value is set Swing bus, PV bus or PQ bus taking into account the internal impedance can lead to convergence problems during initialization.
