Initialization of synchronous machines and regulators
In Engee You can set the power and voltage values of the synchronous machine in steady state. Based on the set values, the machine unit calculates the initial values of the excitation circuit and the input rotation required to achieve this steady state. Running the machine in steady state prevents unwanted transients in the simulation.
-
Calculate the required power and voltage characteristics of the load circuit.
-
In the parameter group Initial Conditions set the block settings windows for the parameter Initialization option meaning
Set real power, reactive power, terminal voltage, and terminal phase. -
Set the required power and voltage values and press OK.
-
On the tab Utilities Click the button Display Associated Initial Conditions.
Engee calculates the values of the excitation circuit and input rotation required to start the machine in steady state, and displays them in the command window.
-
Use these values to enter parameters into the blocks connected to the ports of the excitation and rotation circuits of the synchronous machine.
If set for the parameter Initialization option meaning Set targets for rotor angle and Park’s transform variables, then the tab Utilities with a button Display Associated Initial Conditions not available.
