vswr

Calculation and plotting of the standing wave voltage coefficient (VSWR) of an antenna or antenna array.

Library

EngeeRF

Syntax

Function call

  • vswr(object,frequency,z0) — calculates and plots the VSWR of an antenna or antenna array in a given frequency range at a characteristic impedance z0 Om.

  • vswRatio = vswr(object,frequency,z0) — calculates and returns the VSWR of an antenna or antenna array in a given frequency range at a characteristic impedance z0 Om.

Arguments

Input arguments

# object — antenna or antenna array for which the VSWR is calculated

+ antenna object | antenna array object | custom antenna | custom antenna array | object pcbStack | object installedAntenna

Details

The antenna or antenna array for which the VSWR is calculated, specified as an antenna object, an antenna array object, a custom antenna, a custom antenna array, an object pcbStack or an object installedAntenna.

# frequency — the frequency at which the VSWR is calculated

+ scalar | vector

Details

The frequency at which the VSWR is calculated, specified as a positive scalar for one frequency or a vector of positive values for a frequency range in Hz.

Типы данных

Float64

# z0 — characteristic impedance

+ 50 (by default) | scalar

Details

The characteristic impedance, given as a scalar in ohms.

# UseParallel — usage of parallel computing

+ false (by default) | true

Details

Option for usage of the parallel computing pool, set as a boolean value. Set the value true (or 1) to perform VSWR calculations for each frequency in parallel. Parallel computing speeds up the analysis of computationally large antennas and antenna arrays at multiple frequencies.

Output arguments

# vswRatio is the voltage coefficient of the standing wave

+ scalar | vector

Details

The voltage standing wave coefficient (VSWR), returned as a scalar for one analyzed frequency or a vector for analysis in the frequency range.
